The ego has convinced us that our foundation is a solid bedrock of darkness, sin, and guilt, upon which the whole world of form and bodies has been built. And yet despite its seemingly impenetrable nature, rays of light (at our invitation) enter the darkness and seem to appear in the world of form, reminding us of our true foundation in Love.
These reminders are only symbols of what lies beyond, and there is a strong temptation to invest our devotion in the externals, maintaining our focus on the forms instead of seeing them simply as means to remember the true content they reflect. We gradually begin to recognize that the purpose of this misguided focus is to conceal the mind’s chosen content.
Yet when used simply as symbols pointing to the Source, these forms can become our classroom, with the help of our inner Teacher, for learning our way out of the darkness and back to our true Home in the light. With this realization then, “What is your life but gratitude to Him Who loves you with an everlasting love?” (The Gifts of God, p. 126).
Deciding to live in the light of this truth, we then experience only genuine gratitude for the function the specific forms can serve—for as long as they may be available—in helping us remember the Love that we truly are.

The School for A Course in Miracles (SFACIM)
and The Rocky Mountain Miracle Center (RMMC):
This post is in response to inquiries about the relationship between the School for ACIM, which is an actual online School for A Course in Miracles… and the Rocky Mountain Miracle Center (RMMC), which is a building located in south Denver which provides meeting and classroom space for those studying and practicing “A Course in Miracles.”.
The School for A Course in Miracles (SFACIM) is an autonomous entity, with its own School-trained teachers conducting classes online and in-person. The School is distinct and separate from the RMMC.
The School for ACIM and the Rocky Mountain Miracle Center each have their own governing Boards, and each have their own websites. For current information (updated daily) on all the School’s activities, held at both the RMMC and other places and online, please check the SFACIM schedule.
The SFACIM home business office is located @ Montview Manor in Central Denver, where the SFACIM occasionally has classes in Montview’s Penthouse.
The RMMC building is located at 1939 S. Monroe St. in Denver, where the SFACIM facilitators occasionally conduct classes and lead Sunday Gatherings in-person. Most SFACIM classes and seminars are now only online.
The significant way the School’s facilitators sometime differ from other Course teachers is this:
The SFACIM teachers specifically study and share Dr. Kenneth Wapnick prolific teachings on “A Course in Miracles,” and his insightful and helpful approach to the Course… in all their classes and events.
We believe Dr. Wapnick was and still is the foremost, most knowledgeable, and one of the most caring teachers of the Course since its inception.
Ken Wapnick met Helen Schucman and Bill Thetford shortly after the Course had been taken down, and was instrumental in its publishing and the teaching of the Course ever since. We know that it is his work and teaching that has kept the Course for us consistently on-track, “on-Course,” and undiluted.
Our beloved Ken made his transition a few years ago. However we genuinely feel his presence, his ongoing love and guidance even today, as we continue to learn and practice the kind and gentle process of forgiveness, given us in the Course.

A common observation of students as they continue their study and practice of A Course in Miracles is that—much to their surprise—their fear level has increased and peace has become more elusive. Yet it is not surprising that the decision to restore the previously rejected awareness of our true Identity as one with God would produce considerable discomfort. This is because we could begin to recognize some of the defenses we use to keep the truth concealed. The resulting fear and discomfort are addressed by Jesus in the Course and will be among the topics discussed in this class.
Included as well are Jesus’ comforting reassurances that he is with us in our process of withdrawing the promise we made to the ego never to allow union to call us out of separation and therefore we would look at what we swore we would never look at (T-19.IV-D.3:4; 6:1). Thus we learn that our fear is not justified. We have not lost our innocence, as Jesus reminds us, and so we recognize at last that in truth “there is nothing to fear” (W-pI.48). The peace that is our inheritance is now restored to our awareness.

Questions to Ken: Jesus’s New Year’s Message on Joining?
One of the major themes that we will be talking about is joining, what it is, and what it is not. The end of workbook lesson #92 discusses this. To the ego joining always means joining with itself. We discussed how in the original ontological instant when the decision maker had to make his choice, he joined with the ego instead of with the Holy Spirit. From that joining, which is really a pseudo-joining, because it is joining with nothing, the whole world is made. We continually join with this limited and separated self that is the ego. In the world, the limited and separated self is no longer in the mind but is in the body, and so joining for us in the world is joining with other people. There is an important line in the text that says “minds are joined; bodies do not” (T-18.VI.3:1). Bodies do not join. When we find ourselves in sympathy and empathizing with people who are in pain, or identifying with a particular group against another group, we are identifying and joining with their bodies. That is not joining, because we are joining with an illusion. We are joining with weakness instead of strength.
In true joining, we change our minds and move away from the ego and back to the Holy Spirit. That is the meeting place that lesson #92 talked about, the meeting place of the little “s” self with the capital “S” Self. The capital “S” Self is represented for us in the dream by the Holy Spirit, Who reminds us of the Self we are as Christ. The little “s” self is the self that believes in separation. When the decision maker moves away from identifying with the ego self and begins to move towards the Holy Spirit, that is the meeting place. The meeting place is within the mind, the decision-making part of the mind that chooses to identify and join with the Holy Spirit. When we join with Him there is no separation. As we said earlier, the ego believes in separation, difference, judgment, and attack, and they all are virtually the same thing. In fact, not only virtually, they are the same thing. When we join with the Holy Spirit we are joining with the unity of God and Christ. We are joining with the love of Heaven that has no division or differentiation to it. Then when we peer out into the dream we no longer experience differences or separation. As I mentioned earlier, whatever is on the film that is running through the projector in the movie theater is exactly and identically what we perceive on the screen. So, too, when we join in the mind with the Holy Spirit, which is joining with the unity of Christ, we experience unity and love on the screen of our lives, in the world. It does not mean the body’s eyes will not perceive differences, but the differences will make no difference. In other words, the Love of God that we are now identifying with is totally unaffected by the seeming differences that the body’s eyes perceive.
That is what Jesus means in the passage at the end of Chapter 15, which was written at New Year’s time as a kind of New Year’s prayer: “Make this year different by making it all the same” (T-15.XI.10:11). In other words, don’t make differences real. Chapter 15 is the first place in the text where Jesus discusses special relationships. And the hallmark of specialness is differences: You are different from me, you have something that I want, and I want to get it from you. When we join with the Holy Spirit or with Jesus in the mind, we no longer experience differences. If we no longer experience a difference between ourselves and the Love of God, it is impossible to experience any real difference out here in the world. We do not see people as separate and different from us, and therefore we make no judgments against them and we don’t attack.
“The Greater Joining”—the title of the section we will look at later—is this joining of Christ with Himself, or the joining of Christ with God. We do that first in the mind, and automatically the vision and unity and experience of love extend through us into the dream, and we no longer experience people as different from us. No matter how mangled their bodies may be, no matter how much in pain they are, no matter how terrible their situations are, we do not experience ourselves as different from them. We will go into all that in more depth later on.

This Sep. 16th half day workshop is an immersion into the basic fundamental themes and process of forgiveness and healing in “A Course in Miracles.”
The seminar is great for beginners and for those fairly new to the Course. It is also very helpful for ongoing Course students desiring a refresher in Course basics. All are welcome.
If you are fairly new, this workshop is highly recommended for those who are considering taking the four week series in October on the Psychotherapy Pamphlet, and/or the 2018 Six Month Course Immersion.
