True Intimacy, Valentine’s Eve Workshop, This Saturday, Feb. 13, 2016, in Glendale

September 18, 2015

DSCN0513

Happy Valentines’ Workshop, Sat. Feb. 13

On True Intimacy

9:30 am- 4:30pm

In this seminar we will explore the Course’s approach to what intimacy is and how to achieve it in our relationship with ourselves, our loved ones, and our God.

Love, devotion, an experience of peace and connection- are they not what we all truly seek? The miracle of intimacy transcends our own selfishness and neediness.

This workshop will focus on the undoing of our false beliefs in separate interests of our special relationships. This process opens us to the true intimacy of the “shared interests” of the Holy Relationship.

School of Reason is now School for A Course In Miracles

August 8, 2015

School for A Course in Miracles - logo

The School of Reason has a new name – We are now the School for A Course In Miracles.

When School of Reason was founded in 2007, we had been working with Chapter 21, Reason and Perception from the text of A Course in Miracles. Reason, another word for right-mindedness, seemed like a very appropriate word to include in the name for our school. It wasn’t until recently that we considered that it might not be the easiest way for students of A Course in Miracles to find us. School for A Course in Miracles seemed much more appropriate. To our surprise it was also available, as if waiting for us to claim it.

“Fundamentals of A Course in Miracles”

June 24, 2015

birds in the secret garden - birds in statue bird bath

on four Wednesdays, Sept. 9, 16, 23, 30 (2015), 7:00 to 8:45 pm

Understanding the non-dual metaphysics of A Course in Miracles is immensely helpful in applying the Workbook lessons that will change our minds and the way we see the world. We will explore fundamental Course topics such as forgiveness, healing, and relationships.

In this series of 4 classes we will learn

  • what the course means by “mind training”,
  • how to integrate the Course metaphysics into our lives,
  • the significance of accepting I am a mind and not a body,
  • how to use the mind on behalf of awakening,
  • letting go of the ego, and then
  • choosing the right teacher, the Holy Spirit.
  • forgiveness…what is it really?

We will consider the benefits of making the momentous decision to “choose again” and address the fears that arise in the process.

The purpose of this class is to present A Course in Miracles as a path to inner peace, so that one can decide if it is the right path for them. This four week series is ideal for beginners or ongoing students who want to review and understand in depth the basic Course metaphysics, and how it can be applied on an everyday practical level.

(The class is also highly recommended for those relatively new Course students considering going to the SFACIM Christmas Retreat in December, and who may not be familiar with Kenneth Wapnick and his profound teachings on “A Course in Miracles”.)

All are welcome.

Four Wednesday Evening Classes:

Sept. 9, 16, 23, 30 (2015)

7:00-8:45 pm

In the library of the Rocky Mountain Miracle Center (RMMC), 1939 S. Monroe St., Denver, Co. 80210

Colorado Springs Retreat Schedule, and Weather Forecast, May 1- 4, 2016

April 16, 2015

Open gate and path

“Daily Application of the Course on the Way to Our Resurrection”:

This  Spring Course Intensive includes a three night stay. Our Christmas retreat was only two overnights. In this extended time together we will  explore what it means to live the Course daily, on the way to accepting our own resurrection. We will compare the way the world sees spiritual daily practice and resurrection with the Course’s radically different views of both. Our resurrection is already accomplished and simply awaits our acceptance, but how? What does the practical day-by-day living of the Course look like?

Every moment we decide between crucifixion and resurrection. That sounds like a heavy responsibility until we learn what that actually means. Then it becomes our joyful profession. Come and learn to fulfill our one function as a teacher of God.

The Place:

SLIDERc

The retreat will take place at the lovely retreat facility, the Franciscan Center, in Colorado Springs. The cost of rooms at the Center has risen somewhat since our Christmas retreat there. However we believe that it is the best retreat place around, nestled in a beautiful setting in the foothills of the Rockies, and still at a great price.

Facilitators:

LynCorona-180sqIMG_1584 2

Attendance is limited to 20 participants to make it a small, personal, and intimate experience.

sunflower field photo

Cost and Room Options:

The cost per person for the entire Intensive (four days/three nights) in a single room is $440, and in a double room with 2 twin beds $360 .

Each price per person will include:

  • two group sessions a day on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and a final morning session on Wednesday,
  • all the meals ( Sunday dinner through Wed. breakfast)
  • lodging for three nights,
  • one-on-one mentoring sessions if requested, and
  • optional evening showings of “forgiveness” films based on very moving true life stories.

All are welcome, including new and ongoing Course students, however previous understanding of basic Course metaphysics and Ken Wapnick’s chart is both helpful and encouraged.

Retreat runs from Sunday afternoon, May 1st, through Wed. noon, May 4th, 2016. Registration begins at 2:00pm on Sunday. Then we will have our first presentation on Sunday @ 4pm before dinner, and a one hour class after dinner that evening. Further retreat scheduling of morning meditations, classes and topics, and meal times are posted below.

We will allow ample time for quiet time and/or socializing as requested per the last retreat questionnaire.

Class topics will include shared vs separate interests, intimacy with our Beloved, death and resurrection, and the Wapnick Chart from a victim/victimizer point of view. We will also explore the very practical ways we can apply the Course’s version of forgiveness daily to any given situation.

Man walking away

This class has ended. Please click here  for other classes available…

Thursdays, 7:00 – 8:45 pm

Both brand new and 20 plus year Course students have been inspired and enlightened by the depth and comprehensive insights of this eight volume teaching by Kenneth Wapnick on the Course’s Workbook. It has added and continues to add whole new levels of understanding to each of our own journeys with the Course.

We consistently hear comments like…

“I feel like both Jesus and Ken are sitting there, directly talking to me and gently encouraging me on…”

Our process is to read one paragraph at a time in Ken’s “Journey through the Workbook,”and then give each participant a chance to ask questions or comment.

All Course students are welcome to attend at any point to see if this group is for them.

However if you are brand new to the Course (or relatively new) we recommend, before attending the Thurs. mtg., that you first try the FREE INTRO TO THE COURSE EVERY FIRST WED OF THE MONTH, or some or all of the ongoing Six Week Series on Course Basics @ the RMMC at 11am on Sundays, starting 10/16.

SLIDERc

Retreat to be held at the Franciscan Retreat Center:

in northwest Colorado Springs area, just a couple miles west of I 25 (exit 149), on Woodmen Rd.

It is a beautiful setting (right up against the mountains in the foothills), with a wonderful atmosphere. We loved the happy presence of St. Francis in all the statues and paintings, as well as in the deer and baby fawns (with spots even) frolicking on the lawn. The retreat’s rooms are simple, clean and very well appointed, and the prices great!

Visit their website at www.franciscanretreatcenter.org for some pictures and description of their place. Groups as diverse as Mile High Church, Self Realization Fellowship, and DU have taken advantage of this facility.

Purpose:

The purpose of the retreat is the celebration of the true meaning of Christmas (in our minds) with our brother, teacher, and dearest friend Jesus. Before the world’s mistaken version of “special giving” overtakes us, we come together to understand and experience Jesus and his message in Chapter 15 “We who are one cannot give separately.”  We then can carry that awareness (that the holy Christ is born in you, me, and Jesus together today) throughout the season and the new year.

We are planning to have six sessions led by different facilitators throughout the retreat. The line up includes Lyn Corona, Tim Wise, and Susan Dugan. Our first session is currently scheduled on Friday from 4:00 to 5:30pm, with dinner following at 6:00pm.

Lodging:

The retreat price includes the entire program, 6 meals (Friday dinner through Sunday lunch), and lodging. We have rented out the entire Marian Hall residence building for the retreat.

*The retreat is only open to those staying overnight both Fri.(12/4) and Sat.(12/5). *

We will be able to begin arriving and checking in at 1:45pm on Fri., Dec.4, well before Friday rush hour traffic.

Meals:

Six meals are provided: Dinner on Friday; Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner on Sat. ; Breakfast and lunch on Sunday

Cost:

The price includes the entire retreat program (with all six sessions), all meals, and lodging for two nights.

Jesus

We would like everyone attending the retreat to have a basic understanding of the Course teachings on true forgiveness at the level of the mind, and also be familiar with Kenneth Wapnick, his chart, and some of his insightful and prolific teachings on the Course. You can see many of  Ken’s brief 10 minute ACIM presentations on youtube.

 Course 300 x 400 pixels

Registration:

Please do not call the Franciscan Center about registration, because we, not the Franciscan Center, are handling those details.

Any questions about the retreat , please call Tim @ 720-391-9294….thanks!

Sorry, NO MORE OPENINGS.

Many thanks to everyone who registered! Thirty-six retreatants total (including the facilitators) are coming from Boulder to Pueblo in Colorado, and South Dakota and California. We are really excited to have this opportunity for us all to get together and look at this Christmas through the lens of  Jesus’ Course, with him as our guide and teacher.

2nd, 4th, & 5th Fridays, Noon: Living the Course: This Class has ended.

April 2, 2015

Open gate and path

This class has ended. Please see other SFACIM classes that might fit into your schedule… click here.

Jesus asks us in his Course to teach that he did not die in vain but to demonstrate that he lives in us. We do this by asking for his help to see our brothers the way he sees them: guiltless.

Seeing our all our brothers the same is our one and only function as teachers of God.  It is how we “live” the Course and save ourselves at the same time. As we see innocence in others we begin to recognize it in ourselves.

Jesus tells us:

“Your way will be different, not in purpose but in means. A holy relationship is a means of saving time. One instant spent together with your brother restores the universe to both of you.” – Text. Ch.18, VII.5:1-3

The focus of this class will be on recognizing that we share the need for salvation with everyone we meet. It is a collaborative venture with Jesus as our teacher and guide.

Materials will include relevant sections from the text, workbook, manual for teachers, pamphlets, and selected works from Kenneth Wapnick, eminent scholar and teacher and author about the Course.

Lyn Corona began her study of A Course in Miracles in 1976 and has been teaching its message of peace through forgiveness for more than 20 years. She is a founder and faculty member of the School of Reason, now School for A Course in Miracles.

WHEN:  Second, fourth and fifth Fridays (when it applies) of each month, 12-1:30 pm

WHERE: Rocky Mountain Miracle Center (RMMC), 1939 S. Monroe St., Denver, CO 80210

COST: Suggested donation $10/class

CONTACT: Contact Lyn via email form , or 303-880-7713

Located in Denver, Colorado, the School for A Course in Miracles (formerly School of Reason) was founded in 2007 as a school for students and for aspiring teachers of A Course in Miracles. The school offers accelerated learning programs leading to the Course’s goal of inner peace and the attainment of the real world.

Journey Through the Text of ACIM (changed to “Basics of the Course”)

January 14, 2015

class: Journey Through the Text For Teachers (JTTT) of A Course In Miracles - School for A Course in Miracles - logo

Sundays,  9:15-10:45 am, Rocky Mountain Miracle Center (RMMC)  in Middle ‘TV’ Room

The “Text”, the heart and soul of the three books of A COURSE IN MIRACLES, will be the focus of this weekly class. In the early days of ACIM, the Text itself was considered so important, that the Text alone was called ‘The Course‘, and the Workbook and the Manual were simply supplemental to it. It was only later that all three books together became known as A Course in Miracles

Major fundamental Course topics in the Text, like special relationships, the Obstacles to Peace, and the Laws Of Chaos, are not even mentioned in the Workbook or Manual. Those two books are obviously invaluable in the overall understanding and application of the Course, but the Course’s unique understanding and process of FORGIVENESS can only be fully appreciated and grasped by an in-depth study of the Text.

Our approach then will be to go through, line by line, “Journey through the Text” by Dr. Kenneth Wapnick, renowned and respected teacher and author of books about ACIM.  Dr. Wapnick adeptly explores (in this four volume series) the Course’s symphonic development of themes like forgiveness, Atonement and healing. Copies of each chapter will be available as we progress, but it is highly recommended that each participant eventually get their own set for study.

Weekly sessions will be led by different facilitators sponsored by The School for A Course in Miracles. The School was started in 2007 in response to the need for Course classes that present a unified, accurate and consistent understanding of the Course’s thought systems. It is a school for students and aspiring teachers of ACIM, offering accelerated learning programs leading to the goal of inner peace.

Any donations are appreciated to help sustain the RMMC.
